Digital CCTV system specialist Acam Technology has launched a range of Cathexis digital video recorders, designed to provide end users with a high quality, extremely powerful DVR package at a budget price.
The ‘Serval’ range (named after a South African wildcat) enables installers to provide potential customers with a CCTV solution that surpasses other recording options, but at a lower price.
Serval is available in 12, 24 and 36 channel options with up to 6TB internal hard drive capacity. Every system is based on the very stable LINUX operating system and includes an integrated CD-RW, LAN, four RS485 telemetry ports for multi-protocol PTZ control, Smart Video Motion Detection with Motion Tracking and VGA monitor output.
The range is housed in a stylish newly-designed case that exceeds the latest cooling requirements for high performance system enclosures. Using JPEG compression, each system delivers 100 images per second.
Each recorder comes with Cathexis’ catLite software plus free Remote View application. catLite includes remote diagnostics and proactive preventative maintenance, customised screen layouts and a number of configurable event triggers and actions.
An optional upgrade to Cathexis’ catPro software releases an even greater range of features including a larger number of triggers and actions, still object/removed object detection, people counting, a choice of interfaces and integration, if required, with external matrices and EPOS systems.
"Serval is a fantastic product for installers seeking to compete effectively in the market and for end users looking for a feature-rich solution in a cost-effective package," says Acam managing director, Chris West. "Many of the built-in features would be costly add-ons to other systems on the market. We are seeing a lot of interest in the range - particularly the 24 channel version with a 1TB hard drive, which sells to the trade at just over £2,500 plus VAT."
Further information on the Serval range is available by calling Acam on 01332 382555.
