What lens sizes are available?

Each of the two solar-powered cameras in our range have two options for lens size.

The SP111-41L ANPR Camera has 6mm lens and 16mm lens options. The 6mm lens has a wider field of view, whilst the 16mm lens produces a more close-up image of the focal object.

The SP111-41 Smart Event Camera is available with either a 2.8mm or 6mm lens.

6mm Lens: Wider Field of View

16mm Lens: Closer View of Focal Point

How do I decide which lens is best for my ANPR application?

As a rule of thumb, the lens you choose should depend on the distance between where your camera is installed and the subject focal point. The 6mm lens is ideal for a distance of up to 10m, whereas the 16mm lens is more suited to a distance of between 10-20m.

Can I buy the SP111 camera by itself?

Yes, both the Smart Event and the ANPR SP111 cameras are available to purchase as a standalone item. This solution is perfect for expanding existing installs to achieve multi-directional surveillance.

Is the SP111 kit compatible with any other camera?

The SP111 solar kit is capable of supporting any other third-party 12v camera. You would simply need to purchase a Milesight customised cable which are available from Acam.

How many cameras can be used with each solar panel kit?

Each solar panel and battery kit is able to support up to three CCTV cameras. Each camera would need it’s own mounting bracket such as the SA-02 which is compatible with the SP111 camera. You would also need a two or three-way power splitter cable kit which are available from Acam.

Can I add an additional solar panel for extra charging capacity?

Yes. The kit can be expanded by adding one additional solar panel if necessary. Acam can supply an expansion module which consists of a bracket, solar panel and cable which feeds into the battery on your existing kit.

In the event of limited sun exposure, can the battery be charged another way?

Yes, the battery can be removed from the kit and charged up separately via a mains power supply. A mains battery charger unit is included with each full SP111 kit.
